Field Trips (Sept. 13 - choose one)

Minto Mine tour (maximum 25) - $400

This day-long tour will visit the operating Minto copper mine in central Yukon with a focus on progressive reclamation activities. The tour will visit and discuss key features of a modern mine, including open pits, tailings management, waste rock dumps and overall water management.

Carcross Area Reclamation Sites (maximum 40)  - $75

This day-long trip from Whitehorse will travel to the tailings covers sites in the Carcross area (one-hour ride each way). These sites exhibit two different technical approaches to constructing mine waste covers – wet and dry covers. There will be sightseeing opportunities as well.
