Chamber of Mines Applauds Yukon Resource Gateway Announcement

Whitehorse, Yukon – The Yukon Chamber of Mines (YCM) applauds the recent announcement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Yukon Premier Sandy Silver, confirming the Federal Government’s and Yukon Territorial Government’s combined support for the development of the Yukon Resource Gateway Project in the amount of $360 Million. Industry is also committed to contribute upwards of $108 Million towards a total budget envelope of $468 Million.

This significant infrastructure development project will help to upgrade over 650 kilometers of road and build or replace numerous bridges, culverts, and stream crossings to the Nahanni Range Road, Freegold Road, and the Dawson Range. In the Dawson Range region, four separate public road systems will be upgraded. Improvements to the Nahanni Range Road will include upgrades from its junction with the Campbell Highway to the border between the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
